If you see the message, authentication failed, like the screenshot below, follow these steps to try resolving the issue:
- Make sure you are using your correct SOU username and password. Email aliases (AKA nicknames) or personal email addresses, even if you forward your SOU email, will not work.
- If you are sure that your SOU username and password is correct, your password may be expired. Try logging into https://account.sou.edu/ If you can login to account self-service, but not InsideSOU, Moodle, or SOU Gmail, your password has expired and must be changed. You can do so right from account self-service. If this is your first time logging into account self-service, you will need to complete your security questions and then you will be allowed to change your password. You cannot use any of your old passwords, please select a new one. For more help changing your password, see this other knowledgebase article.
- If, after following these steps, you still cannot login into InsideSOU, Moodle, SOU Gmail, or account self-service, you will need to contact the IT Help Desk for assistance at 541-552-6900. Please note that we require proof of your identity to reset your password and we do not perform password changes over email.
