This is a large and critical upgrade that will impact the entire SOU network. This upgrade will cause intermittent outages to network and internet connectivity. We don't expect a long duration of downtime, however, this large upgrade is complex and has risk associated with it. We are expecting that it will cause an initial interruption of service for all users that will last only several minutes. Afterwards, we will be moving the various buildings and groups from around campus on to the new networking equipment. As this occurs, connectivity will be lost as each building/group is migrated. We will be testing all services to verify that they are working before considering the work completed.

In an effort to minimize disruption to campus, we chose this date after consulting directors and managers from the various divisions and departments. We understand that the dates and times are not perfect for everybody. If you may need some temporary connectivity for a SOU related event, please contact I.T.-- we may be able to lend you a wireless hotspot.
